Cave Dive Plans

These dive plans are for example only. Do not dive with them or use them for anything other than as examples of the results of calculations performed by XS. These are just the answers to equations, they do not represent safe dive plans.

As far as we know, XS for Windows is the only software which will plan a cave dive straight from the survey.

The Emergence du Ressel in the Lot Region of France:

Entrance at 9m, descends to 12m after 170m distance, from there to 28m after another 180m, it drops to 40m over approx. 60m distance and then to 44m after about another 50m

The diver will be free swimming at about 12m/min

The survey can be entered directly into XS:

9m >> 12m  170m; Air
12m >> 28m  180m; Air
28m >> 40m  60m; Air
40m >> 44m  50m; Air
44m >> 40m  50m; Air
40m >> 28m  60m; Air
28m >> 12m  180m; Air
12m >> 9m  170m; Air

Using standard Buhlmann with 10% safety factor:

6m for 15min Air

This is assuming that the diver is swimming at a reasonable 12m/min. If the diver was using a scooter, then XS could be told that the diver is travelling at around 30m/min, and the program would tell you that it was now a no-deco dive.

If the diver swims slower (10m/min) then the deco stop becomes 27min.

XS is the only decompression planner capable of planning cave dives straight from the survey.
